Fort Lauderdale florida fishing report

Report Date: November 4, 2013

Been a while. Yes I am fishing but waiting on the change of season to post a change in reports. Looks like we are finally getting a taste of fall. Winds out of the north and dry cooler air. This means fish too. Over the last 3 or 4 weeks we did start to see bait move onto the coastline and in our inlet. Spanish Mackerel were hot on them too. Some days we kept busy in the harbor taking Macs on trolled lures. Nothng big but steady action. The Barracuda and Jacks filled in the time while using live baits.

Offshore the Sailfish are treking south. Live bait is the key. Keep an eye on the water and watch for the signs. Kingfish, Bonita and the random Dolphin school jump the baits too. Most action is happening between 100 and 200 feet of water, just 1.5 miles right outside our inlet. Over the next few weeks we should see the fronts push more and more fish through our area. Picking the right day is pure luck and if you do get it right you are in for some good action. Weather changes fast and often so don't try to figure it out, just go when you have the chance.

Sea Ya,
Captain Ron
