Fort Lauderdale Florida fishing report

Report Date: September 15, 2008

The weather has finally given us a break. After 2 weeks of threats and nasty seas today was just perfect. The Kingfish are still off pace but we did get a few bites and landings. The bottom fishing has produced. Mutton Snapper, Yellowtail and Grouper are back in on the reefs and trying to bulk up again. As long as the weather allows you to hold bottom with some fresh bait you should be able to score.

The inlets are holding the ever ready Barracuda and some Jack Crevalle. Mullet are moving in and out of the canals and some huge explosions are giving away the locations to place a bait. Be ready and paitient. The next few weeks will begin to show us what the fall run has for us.

Sea Ya,
Captain Ron Mallet
