Fort Lauderdale Florida Fishing report

Report Date: June 22, 2008

The rains have pounded us each day this week. I guess they heard that we had a drout thing going and someone decided to repair the problem. Most mornings are nice then the usual mid day, afternoon storms build. Since we are officially into summer this is expected. We did get into some action before the boat was washed though. Live baiting a mile or so off the shore produced lots of Dolphin although they were all peanuts (small). The quantity was big though. This provided great action for the younger anglers. We did have 2 Sailfish eat out baits too. There are a few still lingering around and most days still give you a shot at them. A few boats with large fuel budgets went further offshore and found some keeper sized Dolphin.

The inlet was holding some nice Barracuda. They ate well and the size seemed relative to the size of the live baits being placed in front of them. This pattern should keep up for a while yet. If you have the chance to get out one morning take it before the real summer sets in.

Sea Ya,
Captain Ron Mallet
