Fort Lauderdale Florida fishing reports Start Here!

We are getting a few fronts passing through our area. This is bringing in the baitfish and gamefish we expect and invite to visit us for the winter. The last week has provided action with Sailfish, Dolphin, Bonito, Shark and a few other guest appearances. They were all taken offshore about a mile or two from our inlet. Drifting live bait has been the system that works for me.

The inshore scene is doing well too. This has come in handy a few times when the winds kept the boats from heading out the inlet in comfortable conditions. The Jack Crevalle and Barracuda have cooperated and kept the rods bent. Not much luck with the Tarpon lately although they are always present and you never know when one might jump on.

This action should build as we get deeper into the winter and the water temps drop. The last front gave us a taste of things to come and we alll look foward to testing the waters each day to check up on new arrivals.
