Ft lauderdale fishing report

Report Date: December 21, 2017

The weather is cool, not cold. Pushed a few more fish south during the last month. Offshore a scattered showing of Kingfish, Bointa, Blackfin Tuna and Sailfish. The Dolphin are here for a few days then gone the next week, you never know. The bottom is giving up a few Snapper and there is a shot at a keeper Grouper until season closes the end of the month.

Inshore the Jack Crevalles have been cooperative. There is an occasional flurry of Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel in the inlet. Barracuda are eating the live bait in the usual places.

This is the beginning of our winter season, if you can call it that. Each cold front will trigger a few days of great action. Pick the lucky day and you will be glad you got on the water.

Merry Christmas

Captain Ron Mallet
