Fort Lauderdale fishing report

Report Date: October 27, 2016

Looks like we finally made it through the heat of summer. A few cooler days and nights this week. The winds are blowing out of the north right now and this is normal for october. Mullet were in thick before the blow but it looks like the moved out the last few days. Another push should get a few more inshore.

Before the blow the offshore scene was mostly Kingfish, Bonita and scattered Sailfish for those using live bait. The seas are a bit too big for comfortable fishing right now but as soon as they calm down there should be a new supply of fish to tangle with. This weather is what gets them moving through. The action should continue to grow as we get deeper into winter.

The inshore waters are calm and always fishable. The Jack Crevalles are schooled up and once found double header action is common. Some Barracuda is mixed in around the points. The Spanish Mackerel have moved into the inlet too. A little scouting should find them. Great action on light tackle and not bad eating fresh.
