Fort Lauderdale Florida fishing report

Looks like we finally made it over the hump. It was a pretty quiet winter bite this year. The spring run has begun though. This week the fish started moving north. We had a nice mix of action and variety.

The offshore scene put Dolphin, Mackerel, Bonita, and nice Kingfish on the hook including a nice 30 pounder this morning. All were caught drifting live pilchards a mile or so outside the inlet. We did have Dolphin earlier in the week and saw a few Sailfish jumping but none took our baits. We boated a nice Tripletail yesterday that will be tonights dinner.

The inshore bite has been very good with the Barracuda and Jack Crevalle. Again live bait is the best plan of attack.

We are entering into the peak season during the next month or so and considering the good start I expect it to get even better as long as you pick the lucky day.
