Fort Lauderdale Florida fishing report

We had some action this week battling nice fish. The Sailfish did cooperate most days with mixed in Kingfish, some large ones too. The Dolphin were out front today but most were undersize. Still lots of fun and a great show for the visiting fisherman who has never seen the vibrant colors in person. The bite was 1.5 miles straight out the inlet with live Pilchards being the weapon of choice.

Inshore this week we found the Barracudas and hefty Jacks putting up nice battles on the spinning rods. Again the live bait did the trick. A great way to use the day when the ocean is dishing out 7 foot seas.

Over the next few months we expect the bite to give up some great days. April/May is traditionally the best time to run into a few busy days reeling in fish. I am looking forward to what is coming.
