Fort Lauderdale Florida fishing report
Report Date: August 1, 2012
Been a LONG time since I had the chance to update this. I spent some time on the road and had to battle computer bugs too but I am back at it.
The last week or so has been very active for mid summer fishing in South Florida. Last week we had a nice mix, Sailfish, Kingfish, Bonito and Blackfin Tuna rounded out the catches. The weather has cooperated for the most part too. Some scattered rain and temps pushing into the 90s most days. The fish were all caught right out front of our inlet about 1.5 miles from the rocks. Live bait is the weapon of choice. A drift with baits covering the surface and deep water feeders has done the trick. I hope this pattern holds up for a while. The action comes and goes at times but the overall catch for July/August is good.
