Fort Lauderdale Florida Fishing Report

Report Date: July 9, 2010

Even though the heat is on we are still getting shots at great fishing days. This week has given up the standard summer time bite. Kingish and Bonitas have been the main action. We did see a few Sailfish jumping in the vicinty and a large Hammerhead did a swim by along with the Cobia that came up to sniff my propellor.

The bottom fishing did give up a few nice Mutton Snapper and Yellowtails too. The Groupers were short and need to go back but they do bend the rod pretty good. The inshore scene is steady with Barracuda and Jack Crevalle. With the great weather outside the inlet lately I have left them alone but they are ready to attack a fresh live bait anytime the tide is moving.

Watch the weather, bring some sunscreen and lots to drink. The summer can still provide some nice action and make it worth the time to get out there.
