Fort Lauderdale Florida fishing report

Report Date: December 14, 2009

We had a great day fishing today with near perfect weather. On the ocean with a light breeze and sunny skies with the temps around 80 made it a nice way to spend the morning.

The fish came quick too. The first bait out was eaten by a Dolphin and he brought the whole school to the back of the boat. Not sure if the anglers were awake yet but this worked better then a cup of coffee. We encountered the Dolphin a few times that morning. None huge but plenty of action. We kept a few for the evening dinner and released some too. A few Kingish were mixed in the area and they kept us at the reels in between the Dolphin. No Sailfish action today but each day is different, maybe we will get 3 tomorrow?

On the way home we stopped off and finished the baits with the light rods and some Jack Crevalle. They were hungry and gave the anglers satisfaction being able to use all the bait.

This pattern is common during the early winter season. A lot depends on picking the lucky day around the right weather. It is a crap shoot so I leave the luck up to you. Pick a day and hope for the best. Even the worse is better then work or shoveling snow, right?

Sea Ya,
Captain Ron
