Fort Lauderdale Florida Fishing Report

Report Date: December 7, 2009

Our weather is changing and so is the fishing. Yesterday was one of the most productive days I have seen in a long time. The bite started with a 20 pound Skipjack Tuna and was followed by shcoolie Dolphin and then switched over to all the Kingfish that was needed. The angler became winded as I held one or two rods for him that had fish on while he landed the fish on the rod in his hand. It was an awesome bite going on. 3 rods out, 3 fish on. This continued for the last 30+ minutes of our trip until we ran out of bait and time together, perfect way out if it. This was classic "being in the right place at the right time".

The Sailfish bite has been early while we are around the moon but it should be more general as we get away from the full phase.

The inshore bite as been the usual Barracuda and a good helping of Jack Crevalle. Big numbers on the average size fish but a few bruisers are showing up to test the line and the angler. Our weather is changing again tomorrow so lets see what this brings. As we progress into winter those who time the lucky trip with the right weather can keep the rods bent and the drags warm.

Sea Ya,
Captain Ron
